What is Teeth Whitening?
Teeth whitening is one of the most effective ways of cosmetically improving your smile quickly and effectively. Teeth whitening works through the use of an application of a gel concentrate which interacts with the tooth surface to remove surface staining and discolouration, whilst changing the internal colour in order to lighten the teeth shade overall. At Ruh Dental, we offer 3 teeth whitening options:
Enlighten Teeth Whitening
Enlighten Teeth Whitening is a combination system. It is the only whitening system on the market which guarantees up to 16 shades whiter. It works by increasing the permeability of the tooth surface to oxygen which helps break down the stain molecules on the tooth surface.
Bespoke customised whitening trays are provided in order to complete a 14 day at-home treatment, then followed by a one hour in-chair booster session at the clinic. This is the only system worldwide to guarantee a B1 shade result with 98% success.
By providing bespoke trays, this allows for future top ups to enhance the shade as the syringes can be purchased individually at a later date.
The process
- Attend for a consultation and if suitable to begin whitening, one of the dentists can take some moulds of your teeth.
- The customised lab manufactured whitening trays are made and fitted. The gels are also dispensed and then need to be worn for a period of 2 weeks overnight with the gels.
- Following this, a one hour in chair boost session is required to complete the whitening process.
Zoom Teeth Whitening
ZOOM At-home whitening uses the same whitening technology as above. With the application of a Peroxide based gel, this interacts with the tooth surface to remove surface staining, discolouration, and transforms the intrinsic shade of the teeth to provide a sparkling white result.
Bespoke customised whitening trays are provided in order to complete a 14 day at-home whitening treatment. This whitening system is convenient for every lifestyle, as the overall result can be managed at your pace.
By providing bespoke trays, this allows for future top ups to enhance the shade as the syringes can be purchased individually at a later date.
The process
- Attend for a consultation and if suitable, impressions will be taken for manufacture of bespoke whitening trays.
- Return to the clinic for the collection of your trays, and comprehensive demonstration of use.
- Complete teeth whitening at-home as instructed for a 14 day period.
Zoom In-Chair Teeth Whitening
ZOOM in-chair whitening uses the same whitening technology as above but over a shorter period of time. The process is a 90 minute session whereby the whitening gels are applied to the teeth, and the use of a light activates the peroxide within the gel over a period of four 20 minute cycles.
